I been wondering this for so long. Was gonna get these rings for a ruger American ranch in 762x39 the medium doesn’t look to high but the low seems just right. I was worried the low wouldn’t clear the bolt

How much should I asked for if I know how to do engine overhaul? I started learning a year ago with my dad and I’m confident enough now to work by myself but I don’t know how much I should ask for. I live alone and pay my bills. I need to make more than 1k a week that’s all I know. Any idea of how much I would be worth? And yes I do have my tools and everything

@@user-uh1vq3bm2v honestly $30 an hour maybe $32. 2-3 years ago people would hire anyone with tools for 30. Now some guys with about 4 years, no engine are getting 27 starting.

Dont know why you guys do this for 270 and 280 brass. 30-06sprg is 2.484" 270win and 280rem are 2.530". They neck is much longer. All your doing is impeding accuracy and putting more flame to the throat of your barrel causing erosion. Its a really stupid f**king thing to do. Its not like 270 and 280 brass is that hard to find. Pull your heads out of your a$$'s and look at case measurements before you do dumb $hit. 270win and 280rem are not based of the 06, they are not a necked down 06.
Just started doing this today. Only I am using a 280 Rem die -- not a 280 AI die. The 30-06 worked great, I am going to take 270 Win and neck up to .308 dia and back down to .284. Works like a champ.
Cool, I love playing with that stuff, seeing what you can do. I haven't had much time lately though.

Do they have you do the machine work?
I only know how to cut for shims. There is a engine shop down the street that can sleeve and deck. I would love to learn to do all that other stuff, but I'm an old dog.

@@fredeschen3783 but I bet you didn't ride your bike up to one and shoot it, that is only half the issue. 15 years ago we could target shoot on this logging land, now because people left their targets/junk, they do not allow recreational shooting. When logging companies buy these lands they sometimes are reluctant to give any access to the public if we abuse their land they can take away access. So people that are cool with breaking laws keep right on doing what they want, people that want to follow the rules have to drive further to hunt or hike.

The only three aquariums I've been to is Baltimore Aquarium in Maryland and Adventure Aquarium in New Jersey and Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut as both a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid so Idaho falls aquarium is definitely one i have to visit just for fun as well:).

would this cause a loss of prime? got a 2013 and have had issues with the truck loosing prime and sucking air after it sits. have changed the lift pump, pressure relief valve, injector and unit pump o-rings, new hand primer, separator tank is full so no leak there, filters, check valve is good as well. isolated the head with the injectors and pressurized that and it held pressure without bleeding down for over 30 minutes. All the lines and fittings are tight. but the truck will prime up and run for 30 minutes or so then itll gargle out and air will bubble into the tanks, prime back up and itll run maybe 30 minutes or itll stay on and run great until u shut it off then after sitting an hour or even over night itll start right back up then gargle back out out and have to be re primed.
1. So it will start and run fine for 30 minutes then die, while putting air into the tanks. 2. Will not start and you prime it and it starts... Can you put a clear hose or site glass in various places on the suction side? Or bypass the filter to see if that's it. Or run out of a bucket at 1500 rpm for an hour see if suction side is the problem. I think the rail could lose pressure, bleed back through those pumps, but the air I think is something else. Maybe injectors get hot then compression pushes in them and out return. Let me know what you find.
@@monray300 ill check with the shop in the morning. Itll run if u put air into the tanks. Test drove it for 3 hours Wednesday and it was running like a brand new truck. Course i never shut it off. Got back to the shop and shut it off then an hour or so later it bled down so they changed filters and reprimed and it ran to get into the shop. They pulled the pressure relief block and checked the check valve and it was good. Reinstalled and primmed and truck started and ran every time so they let it sit overnight. Started it the next morning and it fired right off with only one rotation. Ran for 30 minutes and then died and they heard air bubbling into the tanks through the return line. So they changed the unit pump o-rings and ill know today how that went. But i am thinking he has something to do with thermal expansion somewhere in the system. But i believe the injector washers were changed with the o-rings. I know when i dropped iff the unit pump seals they had the head and injectors isolated from the rest if the system and had it pressurized to 15lbs to which it had been holding steady for over 30 minutes. They also bypassed the tanks and ran it off a bucket either at or after the filter housing but cant remember which. But it still did the same thing.
@@monray300spoke to the shop. Its still doing the same thing. Itll start and run but once ur turn it off it pushes all the fuel pressure into the tanks and needs to be reprimmed to start back up but it starts real easy and will run. Just going to to run it as is for a few weeks so i can get some revenue to stay in business the. Go back and replace the injectors and unit pumps. After that the entire fuel system will basically have been replaced
@@erick1076 yeah I just asked my buddy at work and he said isolate the injectors while watching the return for bubbles, I know those unit pumps fail almost every time the system is opened. Paccar says crack the lines then back flush the fuel to keep stuff out of them or it's the our fault they failed. Update oring and seal have come out for the injectors also but if you have them the VIN at the dealership they should have gave you those.
@@monray300 they isolated the head with the injectors using a pressure gauge at 15 psi and never saw pressure loss but im not sure if they r setup to isolate the injectors while the truck is running

Winchester blue bag 270, necked up with a long tapered Redding expander works great, trim to length, forming is required. Also have had excellent results with the new PMC 30/06 and 270 brass. Federal is junk, and will not take the pressure, Nosler is the same. Top-end loads are where the 280 AI loves to thrive. I have formed brass from Lapua 30/06 brass and you can not kill it because it is so tough. Many powders will work well. I found a load listed below that is between 56-57g of IMR 7828 with the Key being a Federal 210 to shoot tiny groups with the 175 Nosler long range accubond where the bullet is seated .003 from the lands, amazing groups, sort bullets by ogive length. I shoot nearly the same load in a 280 Remington with a 160-168g bullets at 2900, again amazing accuracy with the federal 210s. Please do not use federal brass, it is horrible in how soft it is. Norma is not the strongest brass, not by a long shot.
Thanks for the information. I have not shot my 280ai in a long time, but I'm planning on it. Shortage of reloading stuff and cost since 2019ish. I'm trying to get a load together with stuff I have. I have never had good luck with federal brass either.
